My self-portraits are meant to serve as a reflection not just of me as an individual but also the societies and cultures of which I am a product. Having grown up in the US, but lived most of my adult life in Norway, I feel very much ‘at home’ in both places. However, I always feel most Norwegian when in the US, and most American when in Norway. These self portraits represent the lens through which my experience, influenced by my surroundings, is reflected and imprinted on my being.
