Who’s looking?

The hunter, the protagonist, the voyeur. The male gaze has dominated the arts for centuries. What happens, then, when she is the observer? And what does she see when his gaze focuses back on hers?

The project explores the concept of the man as strong and hard, and the attactiveness in the masculine. What happens when the voyeur is feminine and doesn’t avert her gaze?

Charlotte Wiig is a Norwegian-British photographer based in Oslo. Her background is in photojournalism, and today she works in the crossover between art- and documentary photography.
