What I’ve never seen and what I’ve always known. The safety and the secret, the mystique and the power. Our hero will forever be the one we don’t understand. Do we ever understand anyone? Attracted to the mirroring, attracted to the echo. The explicit and the subtle. The characteristics I praise, the distinctiveness that brings me into pure rage and fills me with happiness once again. We experience the same euphoria, and we go through the same pain. The eidolon of a life that’ll never disappear.

Pernille Sandberg is a Danish photographer working in multiple fields of photography. Several art collections have bought her work, and she has also participated in exhibitions worldwide, most recently in Tehran, Amsterdam, Tokyo, and New York. In 2019 she was a finalist of Prix Picto de la Mode.
